biography

1970 - 1975

1970 - The book Eletronegativity is awarded the Oto de Alencar award.

1972 - Studies arts at NAC (Center for Arts and Creativity), recently founded in Botafogo (RJ).

Attends classes taught by Pedro Dominguez and Hilo Krugle.

1973 - He begins to exhibit his artistic production.

First individual exhibition ( Monotypes ), at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Fortaleza.

The April Salon of Fortaleza wins .

Participates in the exhibition UNIFOR 70, University of Fortaleza.

National Salon of Plastic Arts of Ceará , with the monotype Flor Maior.

17 artists participated in the collective exhibition at Natal , at the Art Museum of the Federal University of Ceará, Fortaleza.

1974 - Studies and researches with Anna Bella Geiger, in Rio de Janeiro. Get in touch with artists like Fernando Cocchiarale, Paulo Herkenhoff, Sonia Andrade, Ivens Machado (among others), precursors of video art in Brazil.

Participates in the 8th JAC - Young Contemporary Art (MAC-USP), the first public exhibition of Brazilian videos in Brazil, organized by Walter Zanini.

1975 - Participates in several group exhibitions:


- VII Summer Salon at MAM-RJ


- Collective Exhibition of Artists from Ceará , at the Casa da Cultura of Palácio da Luz - Pinacoteca of the State of São Paulo.


- XXV Salão Municipal de Abril , at Galeria Antonio Bandeira, in Fortaleza (CE).

He exhibits audiovisuals (Dimensions and Self Portrait) at the Eucatexpo gallery (RJ).

He makes his first videos: Preparation I; Trademark and In.

Participates in the Experimental Art Exhibition of Super 8 Films, Audiovisual and Video-Tape , at the Maison de France, with the videos Trademark and Preparation I.

Participates in the VIDEOARTE show, at MAM-RJ.

IV International Open Encouter , at CAYC - Buenos Aires with the videos Trademark , Preparation I and In .
